Divisions: Audi’s Electrification Campaign in 2022

The Audi brand has remained committed to its electrification campaign in 2022, despite the challenges posed by supply and logistics issues. As a result, the company has experienced a significant increase in its operating result compared to the previous year.

Business Development

Audi is part of the Premium brand group, which encompasses four strong brands in the progressive premium and luxury segment: Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Ducati. With its global brand promise of “Vorsprung,” Audi consistently focuses on the future of premium mobility, emphasizing connectivity, sustainability, electric power, and autonomous driving. As a leader within the group, Audi plays a key role in the development and scaling of innovative technologies, such as the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) for all-electric premium vehicles.

During the reporting period, Audi introduced several notable models. The Audi Q8 e-tron, the successor to the successful Audi e-tron, stood out with its progressive design, optimized drive concept, improved aerodynamics, and enhanced charging and battery capacity. The new version of the Audi A8 also made its debut, featuring a more commanding and athletic exterior design, along with a spacious and comfortable interior. Additionally, Audi provided a glimpse of the future of mobility with two concept vehicles: the Audi urbansphere concept and Audi activesphere concept. The Bentley brand showcased the Bentayga EWB and Flying Spur Speed, both of which added to the brand’s new portfolio. The Bentayga EWB, for instance, offers enhanced wellbeing and interior luxury, while the dynamic Flying Spur Speed serves as an ideal grand tourer.

Sales Revenue and Earnings

The operating result before special items also showed improvement, rising to €7.6 billion compared to €5.9 billion. Although the diesel issue did have a negative impact on special items, the figures for the Bentley, Lamborghini, and Ducati brands are included in the key financial indicators for the Audi brand.
